Frequently
Asked Questions about CoolSpace Australia
1. How does the
cooler work?
The cooling media is saturated with water. The moisture turns into
a vapor which as it passes through the media consumes heat in the
air stream decreasing the temperature of the air.
2. Does the cooler
add humidity?
Yes, but only a slight amount. The cooler needs a constant flow
of outside air to avoid high space humidity.
3. How much of a
decrease in temperature does the cooler provide?
Typically a 5 to 15 degree drop, depending on the existing dry
bulb temperature and humidity.
4. How much water
does the cooler use?
On average 7.5 to 30.2 litres per hour, depending on the dry bulb
temperature and relative humidity.
5. Does the cooler
spray or mist water?
No, moisture is added to the air in a vapor state. Therefore, no
puddles or wet spots are created from the cooler.
6. How long do the
pads last?
3 to 5 years depending on the care given to them. If you have hard
water, using the CoolSpace conditioning tablets will help prolong
their life.
7. How effective is
the cooler in humid areas?
The air temperature and relative humidity will determine the
effective temperature drop. Even in humid climates, you can expect
around an 8 degree temperature drop. After adding this drop in
temperature to our high velocity fan, we can still create a chill
factor that equals effective cooling.
